Update: 18/03/2026
The regular repentance ceremony and Dharma talk at Hoang Phap Pagoda was attended by a large number of male and female Buddhists, devotees on March 18th, 2026 (January 30th, LC).
The Monks of Hoang Phap pagoda, Junior Thich Tam Sy had a Dharma talk titled “The art of living and dying in balance” to the attendees before the ritual.
He clearly explained his experience in learning and practicing, the spiritual path, and how to live a peaceful mind amidst life's ups and downs.
In our spiritual practice, practitioners need to cultivate knowledge, from learning and understanding the Dharma to gain correct understanding, practicing it to achieve good results and developing true faith in the Three Jewels. It's like a three-legged tripod in learning the precepts, concentration, and wisdom. Practitioners need to build their spiritual path by receiving and complying with the Three Refuges and Five Precepts in mindfulness and awareness. Mindfulness is the clear awareness of the object in the present moments. As a result, cultivators recognize, forgive their own mistakes and be tolerant of others' wrongdoings; increase concentration by listening, contemplation, and practice to achieve steadfastness in life's changes; let go of attachments to loved ones and release their own suffering. This is the art of living and dying in balance amid a life full of fluctuation.
The repentance ceremony took place after the Dharma talk at 7 PM. The mass turns towards the Buddha statue and recites the Buddhas’ names. This solemn moment awakens a sublime faith in the Three Jewels, allowing each attendee to find true peace in their body and mind.
The regular ceremony concludes successfully in the joy of the participants.
