Pilgrimage at the Year’s Beginning for the Hoằng Pháp Pagoda's volunteer workers
Update: 09/03/2026
Abbot Thich Tam Truong organized a pilgrimage for the temple's volunteers to three monasteries in the Western region: Truc Lam Chanh Giac Monastery (Tien Giang), Truong Phap Pagoda, a branch of Hoang Phap Pagoda (Hau Giang), and Truc Lam Phuong Nam Monastery (Can Tho) on Sunday morning of March 8th, 2026.
First, the group arrived at Truc Lam Chanh Giac Monastery in Tien Giang province early in the morning, it is a unique ancient temple, considered a "Little India" Buddhist site in Vietnam. The temple's landscape not only is a long history but also leaves a lasting impression by four sacred sites, meticulously recreated to resemble their original locations in India and Nepal: Lumbini Garden (the Buddha's birth), Bodhi Gaya (the Buddha's enlightenment), Sarnath (the Buddha's turning of the Wheel of Dharma), and Kusinara (the Buddha's Nirvana). These four sacred sites at Chanh Giac Monastery radiate a mystical energy and peace, like a source nourishing and purifying the souls of every pilgrim. The mindful steps and reciting of the Buddha's name by the mass carry the Buddhists' reverence, touching the Buddhas' pure realm in ten directions.
Next, the delegation visited Truong Phap Pagoda in Hau Giang province (a branch of Hoang Phap Pagoda), managed and overseen by Junior Thich Tam Y and Junior Thich Tam Nghien. Junior Thich Tam Truong and Junior Thich Tam Y led the group on a tour of the pagoda ground, the surrounding countryside, and the current construction. The monks’ scale and dedication radiate the noble ideal of "propagating the Dharma and benefiting sentient beings," passed down from the Founder to the Head Master and then to the disciples. Driven by this ideal of saving sentient beings, the Monks diligently organize retreats, Funds for training talent cultivators, build Dharma centers, and utilize all means to bring Buddhism to life, creating the most favorable conditions for everyone to come to the pagoda to study and practice Buddhism.
Last, Truc Lam Phuong Nam Monastery (Can Tho) was the pilgrimage's final destination. The group contemplates the ancient architecture, a tranquil place to soothe the mind.
The pilgrimage of Hoang Phap pagoda's volunteers closed successfully in the joy of the mass.
