With a view to bringing Buddhism into family life and helping young people approach the Dharma practice, today July, 6th 2014 (10th June, Lunar Calendar) Hoang Phap Pagoda held a wedding ceremony for the young couples: Vo Van Tuan Em (Buddhist name Tinh Quang) and Nguyen Thi Thuy Trang (Buddhist name Tinh Nghiem) in the dignified and pure atmosphere of religious intimacy.

Although the wedding ceremony and the ceremony of\r\nTaking Refuge were held the same day, Ven. Abbot Thich Chan Tinh and all the\r\nmonks also spent some precious time witnessing the ceremony. After the incense\r\noffering to Buddha ritual and witness as well as blessings of the families\r\nrepresentatives and the exchanging of the rings, the Venerable came back to\r\nprepare for the ceremony of Talking Refuge in the afternoon. Next, Venerable\r\nThich Tam Dai, Hoang Phap Buddhist monks on behalf of the monks gave blessings\r\nto the young couple as well as offered the teachings of the Buddha about\r\nbuilding a happy family.

He further explained that the couples decision to get\r\nmarried means they are in the same sense of purpose in life. A\r\nhappy life requires not only love but also responsibility of both\r\npartners; it is also moral principles of marriage. Love alone is not enough for\r\na sustainable family because love also suffers to impermanence, which does not\r\nlast or stay the same forever. There comes a time when one has to live up to\r\nthe "moral principles", in which they must show tolerance,\r\nforgiveness towards one another, maintain a happy family and should never\r\ncompare their spouse to someone elses. Besides, if the couple manages to keep\r\npatience and harmony in the family life, they will definitely enjoy\r\nhappy and sustainable marriage.
