Wedding Ceremony at Pagoda

On 12th Jan. 2016 (3rd December, Year of the Monkey), Hoang Phap Pagoda held a wedding ceremony for the young couple of the groom Vu Xuan Dat and the bride Hoang Thien Trang
After finishing the incense ritual, the families' representatives honored to the monks to ask them for their witness to the wedding. After that, the groom and the bride headed toward the Buddha and bowed Him to pay homage. Then, it was the ritual showing thanks to their parents and finally was the one for the groom and the bride to show their respect to each other. At the end, they exchanged wedding rings under the proof of the Venerable.
After the petition speech from the representatives, Senior Ven. Thich Chan Tinh had some teachings. On behalf of the monks, he praised the spirit of the families for holding this wedding ceremony at pagoda. After that, he also taught them how to build a sustainable and happy family. A happy family is that the memberslove, respect and listen to each other, and they have to know how to forgive each other's mistakes. In Buddhism, six principles of harmony are taught by the Budha to Buddhists to practice and coexist in harmony and happiness.
In addition, the Ven. also reminded the young couples should be ready for themselves to be a parent in the future. It's about the keeping the morality and five precepts. If you want to attain good children, you will live ethically first and be a shining example for your children. When they grow up, you have to care about, bring up, and educate them. The most necessary thing is each person in the family must study Buddha's Dharma, lives benignly and believes in the law of cause and effect. The whole family all take refuge in the Three Jewels and keep the five precepts will receive the happiness since those 5 precepts are actually the basic human morality. Living ethically and keeping 5 precepts will supply you with peace and happiness in your current live as well as in your following lives.
