Visiting Washington D.C and Having Dharma Talk at Tinh Xa Huong Thien (Pagoda)

In the afternoon, the delegation passed through Hoa Nghiem pagoda to visit the Sangha and Buddhists. The visiting time was short but full of warm brethren-hood that fostered the belief and diligent spirit in the mass. The Dharma gifts were presented to Buddhists as the encouragement for their practicing and turning the Dharma wheel to sentient beings.
In the morning of the next day Sep 27, 2016, the Venerable Thich Chan Tinh and Buddhist devotees in Virginia had a visit to tourist attractions at Washington D.C as the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum where preserves objects, documents and artifacts related to the genocide carried out by Nazi Germany with the death of tens of millions of victims. The next stops of the delegation were White House, the residence and work office of incumbent American president, Capitol Hill (bicameral Parliament Building), and money printing plant.
In the afternoon, the delegation visited Van Hanh center to meet with director master monk Thich Tri Tue.
In the evening, the Ven had a Dharma talk at Tinh Xa Huong Thien (pagoda), whose abbesses are nun Thich Nu Nhu Tam and nun Thich Nu Dieu Lien. The topic of the lecture was about the traditional practice and contribution of Vietnamese mendicant sect to Buddhism. Besides, the Venerable also guided the mass the Buddhism basics as the meaning of taking refuge in Triratna, impermanence, selflessness, compounded conditions and the practical experience of his as a monk. The atmosphere of the chamber was warmed up with his genuine approach and the sincere welcome from Buddhist devotees. The Dharma gift, DVD film “Searching for the Enlightenment†published by Hoang Phap pagoda, was presented to the audience at the end of the session in the joys of all.
