This morning Jul 27, 2017, Senior Venerable Thich Chan Tinh and his delegation including monks, nuns and Buddhists visit Penghu Island, Taiwan.
 

Visiting Penghu Island and Preaching

 

Penghu is an archipelago in the strait between Taiwan and China, including dozens of small islands in an area of ​​141 square kilometers. This place attracts domestic and international tourists with its beautiful landscape, clean and blue sea, white-sanded long beaches and religious/cultural sites such as shrines, pagodas and temples ... Small islands in Penghu archipelago are more likely cute features making Penghu the wonderful works of art touching people’s heart once coming there (as Taiwanese often says about the landscape). Penghu is really a place that visitors should not miss in Taiwan.

In the evening, based on the invitation of devout Buddhists, Senior Venerable Thich Chan Tinh has a Dharma talk to an ashram with nearly 200 members. This is its first time asking for Dharma talk from monk and organizing entertainment program with the participation of Penghu authorities who appreciate the diligent spirit of Vietnamese in Penghu in Dharma preaching and practicing. Also in the lecture, the Senior Venerable enhances the original, national, religious consciousness of the Vietnamese. Everyone born in this world has parents, grandparents, ancestors, and relatives, hence the descendants should keep in mind parents’ merit breeding us to the current situation. Next, he refers to religious root of Vietnamese, Buddhism, that has come to and been the main religion in Vietnam for nearly 2000 years. Due to some historic situations that Buddhism religion has some faded moments during time. Knowing that, Vietnamese in the world should be awakened and preserve our traditional faith from the invitation/attraction of other religions.

After the Dharma talk, the Senior Venerable presents Dharma gifts to participants including booklets “Doi Nguoi” and “Tu La Tien”.

Last but not least, it is the performance with the contribution of: monk Tam Truong with the song "Tinh Cha", monk Tam Tuong with the song "Biet Bao Gio", singer An Thien Vy with song "Me oi, Mai Con Ve", singer Saka Truong Tuyen with song “Duyen Phan”, and singer Lam Bao Phi with the song “Neo Dau Ben Que”.
