Visiting Huyen Khong Phap Tu Pagoda and Delivering Dharma Talk at the Residence of Buddhist Lien Van in Tainan

In the morning of Jul 25, 2017, Senior Venerable Thich Chan Tinh and clergy delegation visited Huyen Khong Phap Tu Pagoda at the address 270 Trung Hung St. Nam Tay, Tainan City, Taiwan.

At 9:30 am, the delegation arrived at the pagoda in the warm welcome of the abbess and the sangha. Everyone had a visit tour around the pagoda and was introduced details of the construction works, work of art, ancient Buddha statue ... Huyen Khong Phap Tu pagoda has been built since 2002 by the founder, Most Venerable Toan Chan Thuong Nhan. The construction is not completed yet. According to the clergy people at the pagoda, the largest shrine of Taiwan will be built there next year.

Most Venerable Toan Chan is a virtuous clergy person taking prajna wisdom as the guideline for spiritual practice and using pagoda as the preaching means. The Most Venerable spends most of time in life for practicing and prefers the self-service to asking for others’ supports.

In the evening, Senior Venerable Thich Chan Thinh had the Dharma talk at the residence of Buddhist Lien Van with the topic "Eightfold Path" in more than an hour, in which he pointed out that everyone loves happy life with wealth, good health, good lucks… To achieve those, we should practice the Eightfold Path with: right view, right resolve, right speech, right conduct, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right "samadhi" (meditative absorption or union). In short, applying the Eightfold Path into daily life brings us good results, ultimate achievement and enlightenment as Buddha did.
