Visiting Fo Guang Shan Pagoda and lecturing at Chiayi, Tainan

In the morning of Jul 26, 2017, Senior Venerable Thich Chan Tinh and his delegation including monks, nuns and Buddhists visited Fo Guang Shan in the north-east area of Dashu district, Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
The tremendous and magnificent architecture of Fo Guang Shan has created the great surprise and overwhelmed admiration of visitors coming there. Fo Guang Shan is considered as Tainan Buddhism capital with its Buddhist University training domestic and international clergy people.
The pagoda was founded in 1967 by the well-known clergy founder in 20th century, Most Venerable Hsing Yun. With the support and donation from Buddhists, from a wild and remote area, Fo Guang Shan has become a Buddhism holy place in Taiwan for devout Buddhists and visitors from all over the world. After Fo Guang Shan has become well-known in Taiwan and Mainland China, Master Tinh Van abdicated in favor of his successor and travelled around the world for preaching. Thanks to his efforts, Fo Guang Shan has got up to more than 200 subsidiaries in the world including some great ones as Tay Lai Pagoda (US), Nam Thien Pagoda(Australia), Nam Hoa Pagoda (Africa)…
In the evening, based on the invitation of devout Buddhists, the Senior Venerable visited and delivered a Dharma talk to the ashram at Chiayi, Tainan, Taiwan with the topic "Four Desires" including wealth, good reputation, health and longevity, good entertainment and heavenly situation that are the aspirations of human beings. Nevertheless, to achieve such goals, people should strive the best with positive activities, good/noble trend to earn honest money, avoid getting the desires with whatever price, indulging oneself with excessive enjoyment, then losing the direction of life.
