Vesak and Śaraṇa Ceremony in Duoc Su Temple – Korea

In the morning of May 15th, 2016, the monks of Hoang Phap Temple organized the Vesak (the Buddha Day) for the Vietnamese national residents in Incheon city, Korea, Duoc Su Temple.
The Buddhists here also manifested their joy in the Buddha Day together with the Buddhists from everywhere, all present in Duoc Su Temple for celebrating the Buddha Day.
The ceremony was officially performed on 10.30 am, the participant included the monks from Hoang Phap pagoda and the monk of Duoc Su Temple. At the time of Flower Offering ceremony finished, the Duoc Su’s abbot delivered a speech: “The Buddha had taught the world is as a flower, as a home and the all human beings are in the same body. Therefore, the gathering today is considered as a joyful party of the Buddha… Finally, they appreciated the coming of Ven. Thich Chan Tinh and the Vietnamese Buddhists. They always welcome everyone for anytime!†After the end of delivering speech, Ven. Thich Tam Hi, who represented for the Vietnam monks and Buddhists expressed thanks to all the monks and the Buddhists of Duoc Su Temple. Next is the section of giving souvenirs from Ven. Thich Chan Tinh to the abbot of Duoc Su Temple. To fulfill the significance of ceremony, Ven. Thich Chan Tinh addressed a Dharma talk to all participants about the Life and Work of Buddha Shakamuni. By this way, the Buddhists can keep the strong faith to Buddhism. Wherever they are, they always are proud of our Great Master and happy for being his disciples.
Finally, Upasika Tue Tam represented for all the Buddhists in Korea expressed the feeling of joining the ceremony.
At the end of the ceremony, in the solemn atmosphere all people performed the Buddha Showering Rite and chanting. Another present to offer the monk and all Buddhist is the dance from Ban Mai group.
In early afternoon, Ven. Thich Chan Tinh hold the Śaraṇa Ceremony for the lay people. With the brief and concise sharing, Ven. Thich Chan Tinh guided how to keep the 5 precepts for the lay people as well as the benefit from well-keeping precepts. Besides delivering the precepts, the monks also instructed some necessary bodily-gestures for being in temple.
To be ending a Buddha Day, there was an Exchange Show from the monk and the Buddhists, which was especially the performing of Ban Mai Group.
