Ullambana Ceremony at Hoang Phap Pagoda in Cambodia.

After successfully organizing the Ullambana Ceremony at Hoang Phap pagoda - Ho Chi Minh city, responding to the invitation of Venerable Abbot Thich Tam Truc, Senior Venerable Thich Chan Tinh and Hoang Phap pagoda’s monks came to Hoang Phap pagoda in Cambodia to support and organize the Ullambana ceremony from August 11st to 12nd, 2014 (July 16th to 17th, Horse Year.

 Reaching Ullambana makes Buddhism flowers bloom.

 My dear Ulllambana! Your permanently real beauty

 Makes the humanity search for Buddhism light.
\r\n\r\n

Indeed, Ullambana formality is the day when all Buddhists\r\nencounter the golden Buddhism on the Four Grace spirit. Ullambana\r\nsacrament is the one of humanity love and also is an opportunity for us to wish\r\nour current parents as well as pray our late parents for the best.

\r\n\r\n

 It was known that this was the first Ullambana service\r\nwould be organized in this pagoda, but with the spirit for Buddhism, from\r\nprevious days, the monks and Buddhists tried to complete preparation work for\r\nthe Festival which would be organized in the next day (July17th, Horse\r\nYear).

\r\n\r\n

 On July 17th, Horse Year, the official\r\nritual  was organized on the witness of Senior Ven. Thich Chan Tinh and\r\nthe monks in Vietnam and Cambodia.

\r\n\r\n

 At 8:00 am, the whole bodhimandala recited Buddha to\r\nrespectfully welcome the honorable venerables to the ceremonial stage for\r\npresenting the important celebration. Beginning was the opening\r\nspeech read by Jun. Ven. Thich Tam Truc - the organizing committee. After\r\nthat, the Buddhist teenagers represented the whole bodhimandala to pay tribute\r\nto Buddhas from ten directions and to the monks, which creates auspicious\r\nconditions on the occasion.

\r\n\r\n

 A unique and important part in Ullambana was to attach\r\na rose on participants' shirt. Buddhists went through the different emotions of\r\ninfinite love, great merits of their parents when listening\r\nto Buddhist Thanh Huyen reading about the meaning of pinning a rose.\r\nIn the spirit of remembering gratitude and showing filial piety to the\r\nparents, all let a moment of silence reminisce to them. Next, the yellow,\r\nred, white roses were affixed on the shirts of pious people who were\r\nrecollecting their parents. Then, in the solemn atmosphere, everybody paid\r\nrespect to ten pivotal gratefulness.

\r\n\r\n

 Ullambana - the day following the monks’ own bent -\r\nshould be acted like the example of Arhat Moggallana.  Buddhist teenagers\r\nagain represented the whole bodhimandala paid tribute to the Venerable\r\nwitnesses

\r\n\r\n

 On dharma speech in the ceremony, the Senior Venerable\r\nappreciated the Buddhists' noble spirit and behavior of their filial piety. He\r\nalso reminded the public that being Buddhists, we have to learn the example of\r\nBuddha, especially the one of Moggallana’s to fulfill the duties of children.\r\nBesides, he gave thanks to Senior Venerable Thich Duc An, the Abbot of Phuoc\r\nThien pagoda in Cambodia had enthusiastic support for the organizing committee\r\nto organize the ceremony successfully. His speech came to an end by his best\r\nwishes to all for much happiness in this Ullumbana.

 Finally was the ceremony of incense offering to the\r\nBuddha and praying in this Ullumbana.

\r\n\r\n

 In the program, there were many songs about parent's\r\nkindness: "A rose attached on the shirt" sung by Buddhist Tinh Loc,\r\n"My Mother" by Buddhist Lien Dung, "Filial Duty" and\r\n"Mother's tears" by Buddhist Tinh Tuan, Tinh Tam.

\r\n\r\n

 Also in this ceremony, Attendants were granted a DVD\r\ngift of   "Great Ullambana Ceremony in 2013".
