Harmony in the joy of many Buddhist disciples on occasion the Ullambana Ceremony to express their deepest gratitude and repayment to parents, Hoang Phap pagoda organized the Ullambana Ceremony 2022, 2566 in Buddhist Calendar on the morning of August 12th, 2022 (July 15th, LC) with the participation of thousands of Buddhists come from various areas.
At 9:00 am, in the solemn atmosphere, Buddhists welcomed monks to enter the main hall of Dharma Wheel Building. Then, the mass could listen to sacred prayers from Junior Thich Tam Tuong.
After declaring the reason and introducing the program, the rose-badge rite was carried out. Then, lay Buddhist MC Thanh Nha gave a speech on the meaning of rose-badge pinning on the musical background of Artist Van Anh. Finishing the speech, everyone spent a minute in remembrance of the parents, teachers, nation, and sentient beings.
The yellow rose symbolizes purity and nobility. It was pinned to the monk’s robe to pay their gratitude to parents. Next, the musical background of The rose-badge is performed by the singing of singer Duong Quoc Hung with sweet and deep lyrics that made everyone feel the gratitude and meritorious deeds of their parents. Following the program was a moment of repentance for everyone to settle their thoughts, think about past mistakes and direct their words of repentance to the parents.
On behalf of Buddhists at the ceremony, Buddhist Miss Universe Vietnam Nguyen Tran Khanh Van performed a robe offering to the monks. On behalf of the Sangha, the abbot of Hoang Phap Pagoda, Head of the Organizers, Junior Thich Tam Truong gave dharma words to praise the pious filial spirit of Buddhists, and accepted offering items.
The Venerable introduced and read with the mass the book named Gratitude to Parents recently composed by Most Thich Chan Tinh, the Master of Hoang Phap pagoda. On the occasion of Ullambana ceremony, the season of love with the sacred values of the Buddha's disciples, the Venerable shared the Sutra of Ullambana and Parent's Gratitude Sutra to express the spirit of repayment and gratitude for giving birth and bring up to parents. Studying the good example of the Buddha, Arhat Maudgalyayana, besides doing many good things by body, speech, and mind in order to perfect ourselves, we should instruct our parents to respect the Three Jewels and keep five precepts to have a peaceful and happy life.
After preaching by the Abbot, the ceremony chanted the Ullambana sutra as usual.
