Ulambana in Kaohsiung - Taiwan

Despite the unfavorable weather in Kaohsiung with two consecutive typhoons landing in, monks and devout Buddhists were busy preparing for Ulambana so that it could take place on time.
In the afternoon of Jul 30, 2017, at the conference hall of the address 553, Cuong Son Rd., Cuong Son Dist., Kaohsiung City, Ulambana ceremony was solemnly held with the attendance of devout overseas Vietnamese in Taiwan.
As we all know, Ulambana is the day of moral resurrection opening the Path to the Enlightenment and Liberation, reminding us parents’ merits, recalling filial duties/respect to parents, praying for their longevity and happiness, and making this life full of meaning.
It is sympathetic and regretful for overseas Vietnamese who have to bear the suffer living away from home in distant countries, lacking of happiness, love and cares from parents and the beloved ones for the sake of a better future. No matter how hard or difficult it is, these people always think of parents with all of their heart, love and filial piety. Therefore, Ulambana is more likely the chance relieving spiritual pains of Vietnamese Buddhists in particular and all Vietnamese living, studying, working in Taiwan in general.
The program also included many performances as monk Tam Tuong and his saxophone with the song "Bong Hong Cai Ao", singer Duong Hong Loan with the song "Noi Nho Cha," singer An Thien Vy with the song “Me Oi Mai Con Veâ€.
After rites of Ulambana ceremony, the performance kept on with the contribution from monk Tam Truong (with the song "Tinh Chaâ€), artist Thanh Hang (Vietnamese traditional opera), artist Bui Trung Dang, singer Duong Hong Loan, and singer An Thien Vy ...
