Three-Jewel Refuge Ceremony at Tay Khanh Pagoda in Thai Binh

Nearly 300 male and female believers gathered at the lecture hall of Tay Khanh pagoda in Thai Binh to attend the Three-Jewel refuge ceremony on January 20th, 2021.
Before the ceremony, the monks instructed the mass on how to recite the Buddha's name and Buddhist majesty, as: how to put hands together to bow, prostrating to the Buddha, walking, standing, sitting, lying down, eating, drinking, resting ... Then, Junior Thich Tam Thu taught about Three Refuge, Five Precepts and the essential rules for Buddhists.
The refuge ceremony was held under the witness Senior Thich Chan Tinh, Abbot of Hoang Phap Pagoda; Junior Thich Tam Kinh, the abbot of Tay Khanh pagoda and the monks of Hoang Phap pagoda. The monks transmitted the three refuges and had a few words to encourage Buddhists to correctly understand the spirit of relying in Buddhism as well as apply the Buddha's teachings in daily life.
Before leaving, the monks gave gifts to the mass, including the Brief History of Shakyamuni Buddha, Three Refuge and Five Precepts.
Although the weather was not convenient, the ceremony took place in a solemn and warm atmosphere.
