The vow on leaving one’s home and becoming a Buddhist monk

Leaving my wordly predestined affinity and putting on a monk’s robe

\r\n\r\n

To follow Amitabha Buddha’s example

\r\n\r\n

I find the Salvation Way is full of fragrance

\r\n\r\n

And human life will be embellished with flower buds 

\r\n\r\n

I hope that each of my steps will be sweetscented by Zen 

\r\n\r\n

And the sky as well as human world will spread the truth throughout and\r\nbe illuminated by it

\r\n\r\n

So that ignorance and the five periods of impurity will be destroyed

\r\n\r\n

Also make my mind clear and quit being upset

\r\n\r\n

The three tranquility karmas will help human beings keep their majesty 

\r\n\r\n

And will keep right midfulness in each of their words and their steps as\r\nwell 

\r\n\r\n

Ethic example reflects the world life 

\r\n\r\n

Let me grant you the rain of karma full of mercy I received from the\r\nBuddha 

\r\n\r\n

It’s thanks to mercy that I have forgotten my selfhood all my life

\r\n\r\n

I just vow to serve all living creatures

\r\n\r\n

And I won’t lose my heart even I may confront any obstacles 

\r\n\r\n

Provided that I may assist myself and all my compatriots as well.

\r\n\r\n
