The Third Day of Summer Retreat 2019

In the morning of July 23rd, 2019 (June 20th, LC), the third day of 2019 Summer retreat, students all listen to an emotional Dharma Talk from Ven. Thich Tam Dao, one of the Hoang Phap monk, also a member of Vietnam Buddhist Culture in HCMC, the chief of Buddhist Culture in Hoc Mon district, the vice abbot of Linh An Temple in Taiwan, on the title of “Pain For Full-Grown”.

“The one who has a prodigious will must have tremendous endurance to do exceptional things”.

In the talk, he shared that everyone must spend both suffering and happiness in life. When unexpected things coming to us, we really get hurt, powerless, hopeless, … Some can not overcome, they choose the way to hide in the darkness and give up their lives, but some choose the way to face to overcome and keep their way. This makes him stronger, full-grown, and calmly received. Then he shared about a bad father and give recommendations to all students to cherish the happy time with parents. At the end of the talk, he sent to all the song “Father and Daughter”.

In the afternoon, people have precious chance to welcome the Most Ven. Thich Bao Nghiem, the Vice President Of The Ruling Council of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the Head of Ruling Buddhist Promulgation of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the Head of Buddhist Sangha in Ha Noi and Ha Tinh, the Abbot of Bang Temple, Ha Noi. He visits Hoang Phap on the occasion of the Summer Retreat for stimulating and mobilizing the student participants.

Then he addressed to all students the talk named “Find Back Yourself”. Modern life is busy and attracted, easy to drive the young people to the wrong way, that’s why they need to find back themselves, find back to traditional value, to the spirit house to get the peaceful landing. Life must be happy, so doing “find back yourself” you will gain the joy and happiness in mind. No matter how hard, how attracted in life, don’t lose your ease inside.
