On the sixth day of the retreat (July 26th or June 24th, Lc), Ven. Thich Dong Thanh, member of the Ruling Buddhist of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, deputy of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Binh Dinh, the principal of Binh Dinh Buddhist Intermediate, abbot of Thien An temple, Binh Dinh, gave a Dharma Talk named “Temple - Protection the Soul of Nation”.

The talk is around three issues: the connection between Buddhism and national history, the contribution of Buddhism to the nation and the ponder on how the youth preserve the Vietnamese traditional culture via Buddhism. Buddhism was introduced to Vietnam from very early, therefore the temple still holds a lot of national culture, knowledge, and moral in daily life.
He emphasized the existence of a nation depends on its culture, so the youth’s duty is how to keep and preserve the value of national culture as well as develop Buddhist culture.
