The Ordination Ceremony on Dec. 12th, Year of the Mouse

Accumulating enough good karma and passing all the tests, the six devoted men joined the sangha. The ordination ceremony took place in Hoang Phap pagoda on Jan 24th, 2021 (lunar Dec. 12th, Year of Mouse).

“For higher seeking, form-abandoning

From now we leave our family

To join the Buddha’s house

To save all living beings.”

At 9 o'clock, there were three rolls of Prajna bell and wooden-drum respectfully welcoming the Buddhist dignitaries to come to the main hall. 

After declaring the reason, introducing the program, the novice trainees had a speech about the reason they became the monk and then Senior Ven Thich Chan Tinh gave them some advice before shaving hair. 

Faced with sacred emotion, the good men standed to their parents to say deep gratitude for the merit of nourishment, kowtow thanking their parents and starting on the way of renunciation. Representatives of novice trainees’ families had a few words for their children: despite knowing this is a difficult road with many obstacles, do not give up this noble and happy path for whatever reason, should diligently cultivate to overcome all difficulties. 

In a solemn atmosphere, the ritual of leaving home was performed. Next, the Senior Abbot preached about the monk 's virtue to these novice ones, such as: preserving the demeanor of dignity, cultivating the mind, respecting the elders, always thinking our mistakes without saying faults others, diligently practicing in order to repay to The Four Graces, then become ambassadors of the Tathagata. 

The Senior Ven presented gifts to the novice trainees who are next generations in the Buddhism tradition. The representative of these ones expressed his thanks to the Sangha.

The rite closed in joy for the participants.
