Things in the universe come and go basing on compounded conditions including the visit of the Most Venerable. We strongly believe that there have been many good karmas and close relationship between the Most Venerable and Hoang Phap pagoda for kalpas that we can have the honor and opportunity meeting with him in the joyful light of Dharma at Hoang Phap pagoda.
The Most Venerable Thich Minh Chon is currently Member of the Board of Directors, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Buddhist Church of Vietnam, Deputy Head of the Managing Board and Head of the Board of Propaganda of the Vietnam Buddhist Church of Ho Chi Minh City,
Deputy Head of Summer Retreat Department,

Abbot of Phat Bao Pagoda in District 11,
Witness for Summer Retreat at Hoang Phap Pagoda. On behalf of the Board of Management and Propaganda Faculty, he visits clergy people of Vietnam Buddhist Church in Hoc Mon district as well as encourages practitioners at Hoang Phap ashram during their Summer Retreat.
Via Buddha teachings: "O monks, come back to rely on yourself, use Dharma as light and shelter for your refuge", the Most Venerable reminds monks and lay Buddhists to diligently practice, to light up the torch for themselves on the Path, to use Dharma as the light of wisdom to go forward, overcoming all confusion to attain Nirvana.
During the Dharma talk, the Most Venerable Master guides the mass practicing Samatha meditation in five minutes to let go all the feelings as joy, sorrow, gladness or anger, to keep mind calm, ease, wise and awakened, to clear all the anxieties and achieve the stillness in mind. Via the practice, he points out the similarity between Samatha meditation and Buddha’s name recitation. They both are the tools driving us to calmness, concentration and purity in mind; i.e. the Buddha land, the land of Ultimate Bliss. Pure Land is not a far from us but right here when our mind is pure and free from all anxiety. There is no Buddha Land for erring/evil mind.
Besides, the Most Venerable emphasizes the importance of the trio Morality - Concentration – Wisdom. This is the most fundamental method of practicing in Buddhism. This Trio is the essence of Dharma, the path to peace, happiness, liberation, attainment and Nirvana.
After the Dharma talk, the mass expresses deep gratitude to the Most Venerable and vow to follow his teachings. The visit is fulfilled with bliss in warm brethren-hood and the joy of all.
