The fifth day of summer retreat at Dong Cao pagoda in Thanh Hoa

Junior Ven. Thich Tam Dao, a monk of Hoang Phap, had a dharma talk to the young on the topic “Friendship” in the summer retreat at Dong Cao pagoda on June 25th, 2018 (lunar May 12th, Year of Dog).

By the stories relating to life, thanks to precious dharma teachings from the lecturer, that was transfered the youth as helping them understand to appreciate what  they have had in life, knowing to chose a true friend for their relationship, knowing sympathy to love everyone.

To end the retreat’s time, in the afternoon of same day, all participants had an exchange time of talking to the monks of the director board; meanwhile, the organizers gave some gifts to individuals and teams that gained their best results in the Dharma exam. The joy was still on their lips and the sadness lay on their eyes when the summer retreat of Dong Cao pagoda ended. See them again at the summer of next year.

Life of cultivating is like a canary bird

Living each day is attached together

Time is the same as a ship

Containing many memories and fading with time

Do you know I am very sad…

Are you quiet? No, you are not…

White paper will be saved with souvenir words

When being far, we will remember together

Giving flowers? No, they will fade

Giving souvenir verses will keep on loving.
