The ceremony on the Shakyamuni Buddha Attainment at Dong Da Pagoda – Thanh Hoa Province

Lunar December every year in the eastern countries of the world in general and Vietnam in particular has its practical activity captured Buddhists’ spirit to celebrate the Shakyamuni Buddha Attainment.

In that spirit, evening January 08, 2017 (December 11, Lunar calendar), Venerables and Buddhists in Dong Cao pagoda, Nga Son District, Thanh Hoa Province organized the ceremony.

At the beginning, Venerable Thich Tam Hung and all Buddhists burned incense homogeneously. After the magical bell, everyone calmed down and listened to the meaning of the Shakyamuni Buddha Attainment. Whole ashrams seemed to be as the scene when he had attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree. That was the moment he defeated the mara power and trouble. As soon as he attained, he said “I am the Buddha; Buddhists are Buddhas in the future.” The statement affirmed that all humans are capable of enlightenment, liberation from rebirth and become a Buddha like him.

Then, Venerable led to mass blew and recalled 80 times the name of Buddha which is the symbol of the existence of the Buddha. After all, the mass recited the Noble Eightfold Path which mentions 8 ways to escape the suffering.
