Besides, there was the presence of monks, nuns from pagodas, delegates, visitors, and Buddhists attended the ceremony.
Beginning the program, Junior Thich Tam Tinh - the member of the Director Board of VBS in Quang Ninh province, Abbot of Tieu Dao Pagoda, Head of the Organizers, delivered the opening speech. After that, Junior Thich Truc Thai Cang read Tet's greeting letter from the Chief Dharma-Lord of VBS to Vietnamese monks, nuns, and Buddhists at home and abroad.
Next, Buddhist Hue Nga offered longevity wishes and invited Junior Thich Truc Tu Kien to teach the Dharma and encourage Buddhist followers in the ceremony of praying for peace.
The Junior preached, everyone wishes for peace for themselves, their families, and furthermore for society at the beginning of the year. In fact, we don't just pray to Buddha or some other god if we want to have peace for ourselves. Because happiness or suffering is determined by each person, we must know how to sow merit, deeply believe in cause and effect, do many good things, dedicate that blessing to ourselves and others, then we will have meaningful results. If just praying is not enough, we must believe in cause and effect. Once we sow good causes, we will reap sweet fruits.
After that, the mass single-mindedly recited the sutra to pray for peace. The ceremony took place dignified and accomplished in the joy of the mass.
