The 9th Scholarship Program’s Essay

Update: 07/02/2015
I was born and grown in a fishing village near the sea which was at the Nghe An province‘s central area. My childhood was the nights of lighting a lamp at the coast, waiting for my father‘s returning from his boat, surveying my mother who was carefully detaching some of anchovy fishes on the fishing net, but my mind was anxious following each of the flood season‘s tossed waves as well as some times leaving my home for hiding storms.

The 9th Scholarship Program’s Essay

Thus, the salty taste of sea water reached each page of my\r\nnotebooks, which was like ragged, strenuous lasting, carved on the fishing\r\nvillage people’s face of my hometown. In 2002, my older brother was suddenly\r\ngotten a sick of teeth, which was complicated and then became an insane person,\r\nbecause of this large sadness, my father fell ill while my mother had to go\r\neverywhere to have my older brother cured and she looked for medicine my dad.\r\nDuring 12 years, I saw and understood the powerless feeling as seeing my older\r\nbrother and Dad to be suffered of the uncured diseases. Therefore, I‘m\r\ndetermined to become a doctor for my relatives, the poor who had to be suffered\r\nlike my family.

When I was fifteen years old, with the support from my\r\nrelatives and the commune‘s Study Encouragement Fund, I left away from my\r\nfishing village and came to Vinh City to learn at Phan Boi Chau special school,\r\nwhich achieved much expectations from my hometown and family. In spite of\r\ndifficult finances of the life leaving home, it was lucky to me when I was\r\nattended to this school reputes the studious tradition and perfect humanity\r\nwhen I met teachers who were both intelligent and rich of their merciful heart\r\nand good friends who were from the city but very sympathy.

While the time reviewing the course at the A1k36 class in\r\n2010, we together wrote the book on chemistry subject and received the money of\r\n15,000,600 VND. We donated this money to help the orphaned children of the SOS\r\nvillage – Vinh City, Nghệ An. Our time was very tired and busy, but I was very\r\nhappy when I could do a few things to support those, who were in need without\r\nthe parents’ care. In the three years learning in high school, I was always a\r\ngood student and attained the 3rd prize of the province‘s good grader\r\nexamination on maths subject. I graduated High School ranked the good\r\ncertificate (52/60). Particularly, I tried my best to deserve expectation from\r\nmy family and fishing village when I passed the entrance exam to Ha Noi Medical\r\nUniversity at the 7thgrade of 550 student, marked as 28,5/30.

\r\n\r\n

Those achievements made me more confident to have my\r\nknowledge transferring again to following generations. From the summer in 2010\r\nto now, every chance of the holidays on the Tet or summer, I would become a\r\nteacher who trained the subjects of maths, physics, chemistry English. I am\r\nreally happy when I witness the fishing village’s students being one after\r\nanother passing to high schools or universities, etc. Thus, I feel like a happy\r\nexample who contributed to their wish of operation and performance.

At the time at university, in spite of the difficult life on\r\nmy hard part-time- job, I have still attended to the tutor collecting and\r\ntraining board of tutor-Club at the HaNoi medical university in the prior role\r\nthat instructs, shares experiences as well as helps students who endure\r\ncondition like me to have a tutor job affording their learning expenditure. I\r\nalso can’t forget the practical and studying days of eight hours at the\r\nuniversity when I rode my bicycle as far as 10 km for my tutor job to repay my\r\ntuitions and at times I fainted at the study house because of exhaustion. It is\r\na small thing, a tiny stone on the path of performing my dreams, but every time\r\nI remember again, it recalls myself deserve with my effort.

\r\n\r\n

By the goal of becoming an excellent pharmacist, I have\r\nstudied and worked hard. I attained 8,27 marks from last term. Currently, my\r\nfriends and I in group are doing research on “hydroxamic acid synthetic”\r\nproject by teacher Nguyen Hai Nam, Vice Candidate Doctor – the Chief on the\r\nMedical - Chemical subject of Ha Noi Medicine University, which is the\r\nsynthetic substance for curing of cancer. I am at the first step as a\r\nresearcher who develops the anti-cancer medicines in hope that we will produce\r\ncheaper medicines and reach them to everyone.

\r\n\r\n

I attended the volunteer program “Distributing and\r\nconsulting medical using freely” to mountaineers in Chuong Duong district, Nghe\r\nAn province, my homeland, on July 2014. Perhaps, I cannot forget when I dropped\r\nmy rice bowl because of being exhausted from curing 600 patients in non-stop\r\neight hours. However, I remember more of their tight handshakes, the lovely\r\nglance from country people when I instructed medical using and delivered them\r\nto the patients. As a result, I certainly promise in my mind that I must do\r\nmore than that.

\r\n\r\n

I became a volunteer of the program “gratefully delivering\r\nof medicine to the pensioners” by the Sao Thai Duong Medical Company to the old\r\npensioners in Aug. in 2014. Only in six days of the short-termed volunteer\r\nworking in Ha Noi, I know many their tricky situations that were staying in the\r\nmiddle of this splendor capital so that I could have to recognize my\r\nresponsibility.

\r\n\r\n

Currently, I try my best studying on purpose that when I\r\ngraduate, I am able to become a researcher who creates the anti-cancer\r\nmedicines. I am looking for many programs, organizations which give medicines\r\nand cure freely to my homeland as well as many poor people.

\r\n\r\n

I hope that I could receive the support of scholarship fund\r\n“The Seeding of Wisdom” so that I can perform my dream. I really hope to use\r\nthis money attending an English course to enhance my knowledge so as to join in\r\nthe non-government organizations, who can lead programs from the World’s\r\nMedical Organizations to support and curing Vietnamese people, particularly, to\r\nthe far and rural, mountainous residents‘areas. I hope to gain assistance and\r\ninstruction so that I can help everybody

\r\n\r\n

Sincerely,

\r\n\r\n
