The 40th Kid Playground

Hoang Phap Pagoda organized the 40th children's playground for nearly 650 kids to attend on March 05th, 2023.

After finishing registering in the morning, monks guided little learners coming to the lecture hall to participate in funny activities, such as doing exercise, playing mental and physical training games.

Next, the Kids listened to a short dharma talk on the topic named: What I want, preached by Junior Thich Quang An.

Thanks to the story of a father and two sons, the monk helped children understand the gratitude of their parents. Since then, the kids realize everythings material and spiritual of them are exchanged with a lot of hard work from their parents. Therefore, when asking for shopping, meeting their preferences, they must think about the hard labor of their parents. Parents are the ones who take care of children from food, sleep to fun activities... between material and love - the health of parents, they should have consideration and choice.

There are unexpected things that happen in life, we should practice making efforts to use our hands, and our brains to handle and overcome, and should not rely too much on parents or other people if possible. What we want in life is probably a lot, but we have to consider whether it is suitable or not, and what value it brings to us, and families, is it worth it? The monk hopes after the retreat, the children who return to their families will have a good attitude, understand the love of their parents, and strive to study well, be filial, and obedient.

After the Dharma talk, kids will have a cultural exchange with child singers Phuong Vy and Ngoc Nhi

Continuing the study program, young learners sit quietly and read Most Thich Chan Tinh’s gratitude poem, remind the children to remember the merits of their parents, teachers, the Three Jewels, the country and the people around them; and then vow to try their best to become good children when they return to their families.

In the afternoon, all kids will relax with martial arts performances by the Vovinam group. After that, each of them will practice sharing their heart with the woman they love by a program of writing letters, cards, and poems on the occasion of March 8th.
