\r\n\r\n
On the topic "The Power of Habits", for over an\r\nhour, the Abbot presented the issues relating to the karma, karma-result and karmic\r\npower.
\r\n\r\n
People often misunderstand that karma is predestined from\r\nGods arranged, which cannot be changed. However, karma is defined as actions and\r\nvolitional actions. The actions and reactions are repeated many\r\ntimes will create habits. The habits make a control power called karmic\r\npower.
\r\n\r\n
In the Discrimination Small Karma Sutra, the Buddha taught:\r\n"We are the owner of karma and take over our karma. Karma is the fetus,\r\nthe relatives, the fulcrum". We create karma by ourselves and they turn\r\nback to dominate our lives. Therefore, we must be carefully in every thought,\r\naction, and speech in order not to get bad karmas that cause bad results for\r\nourselves.
\r\n\r\n
All people want to be beautiful, wealthy, healthy,\r\nintelligent, noble, etc. To get those, we have to give up killing, avoid anger,\r\nhatred, jealousy and respect, bow to honor moral and intellectual ones who\r\ndonate, give offerings, often learn and listen to the teachings from cultivated\r\npeople. Practicing is a process of karma transition. Everyone has the\r\nopportunity to transform the suffering caused bad karma by good work. This\r\ntransition pathway that Bhagava taught and clearly we need to see a better\r\nfuture to decide to follow. Buddhism takes wisdom as a career. Therefore,\r\nBuddhists should cultivate and promote intelligence to get peace and happiness\r\nlife in the present and future.
