Teacher's heart – Do I understand?
As usual, I have breakfast at this lovely pagoda. I can use food to nourish my body and especially Dharma food to nourish my Bodhi mind from my respected Teacher. Master - the father who gives birth to me in Buddha's teachings.
Teacher! Teacher... you go first, I will follow...
The song's lyrics are filled with love and the promise to follow in our Master's footsteps. But have I and the general public been able to do it? Until now, I feel so embarrassed! Because the Master has created all the best conditions for us to practice, also known as "To practice blessing and wisdom at the same time", yet we... Today, after so many online scandals about monks whether they practice correctly or not, the Master has reiterated the need to practice and study despite his teachings several times. Because of our deep ignorance, we have ignored his teachings taught with all his heart.
It's true that "Buddha at our home is not sacred".
The Master told Buddhists to take the 5 precepts as the basis, taking the truth of the Four Noble Truths, the Noble Eightfold Path,... as the foundation of practice. We must have the right view in everything. Do not speak or act out of love or hate to affect others. Do not arbitrarily judge things from your own one-sided view. A true Buddhist must be mindful, alert and restrain the six senses. Hearing this, my heart feels choked! The master teaches every step of the way. The Master takes specific examples from real life so that the public can see "Dharma is reality" so that their practice will not get lost. He also spent time reading the Three Buddhist Canon Baskets, then composed books condensing the Buddha's teachings such as Jackals and Lions,... so that the public could learn more about the Dharma and help them gain knowledge as well as understand themselves more clearly. He helps the public reorient their path of practice so that it is solid, not swayed by the eight winds of the world including gain-loss, honor-disgrace, praise-criticism, joy-sadness.
"The teacher's heart is like that, but we...."
Master! I sincerely repent to You! Although I have met a good teacher, good friends, and a pure ashram, I have not tried to study and practice, but I follow the saying, “A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush”. I do not pay attention to practice, being careless and unruly, not taking the precepts as a crucial path, allowing false information to lead astray. I'm so ashamed!
Additionally, I would like to thank my good father a thousand times who always guides sentient beings to the light of truth without any selfishness or self-interest to any Buddhist. To Him, all sentient beings are relatives, not with any individual.
Now I silently pray to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to keep Master healthy so that he can always be a place to protect and teach his practitioners to grow in the Dharma every day. As a result, sentient beings can benefit more from him- True messenger of the Thus-gone. He has spent his entire life teaching for sentient beings, showing us that true practitioners still exist, the teachings of the World-Honored One are still there, only sentient beings are willing to truly practice. or not.
“Thanks for teacher lighting and opening the way
Let me firmly step into the future."
