Supporting cancer patients to attend One-Day Practice

On Sep. 08th, 2024 Charity Board and Oncology Club at Hoang Phap pagoda assisted 98 patients of Cancer Hospital and Blind people gathering at the pagoda to attend One-Day Practice.

After having breakfast, Buddhists came to the lecture hall of area C to begin reciting the Buddha's name, walking meditation and chanting Buddhists basic precepts.

Next, all Buddhists listened to a Dharma talk named The beauty of Buddhist practitioners preached by Most Thich Nhat Hy, member of Executive Council - Deputy Director Board cum Head Propagation Board of HCMC’s Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Abbot of Phat Quang pagoda, Vinh Long. 

Finishing reciting the Buddha name in the afternoon, Buddhists practiced sitting meditation quietly. The day of cultivation ended in the joy of participants.

On behalf of the Charity Board, Junior Thich Tam Hue gave gift portions including envelopes and milk to 98 patients and the blind.

The amount of 11,000,000 given by the donors, such as Lien Nghia group supported 6,550,000 VND; Buddhist supported 1,500,000 VND; Tuyet Ngoc rice and her friends (3,000,000 VND).

The monk praised the patients' difficult overcoming spirit, although the body was sick but the mind was not. He advised them to take refuge in Three Jewels, diligently recite Buddha's name, study and practice Buddha's teachings, then will have a peaceful and happy life.
