Summer Retreat at Tay Khanh pagoda – Thai Binh province

By an acceptance of the Senior Ven. Thich Chan Tinh-Abbot Hoang Phap pagoda, the monks and Junior Ven. Thich Tam Kinh (the Abbot of Tay Khanh pagoda, in Quang Hung commune, Kien Xuong district, Thai Binh province) hold a Summer Cultivation course lasting for 2 days (4th and 5th June, 2014) for the local young people.

In order to help them improve the\r\nknowledge about ancient monuments as well as the heroic tradition of ancestors,\r\non May 4th the group was arranged to visit  Dau pagoda in Thanh\r\nKhuong commune of Thuan Thanh district, Bac Ninh province, Which is definitely\r\none of the original places of Vietnam’s Buddhism. He generally introduced\r\nthe history of this ancient pagoda and helped them with an overall view of the\r\nprocess of forming and joining Buddhism into Viet Nam for the first days

Next, the group visited Dien Quang pagoda in Viet Hung\r\ncommune, Que Vo district, Bac Ninh province to continue the cultivation course.\r\nBy the support from from Thich Tam Quan, they were instructed the cultivation\r\nand practice of solemnity behaviors. On the same day, a ceremony for giving\r\nmeaningful messages of gratefulness to parents took place seriously with\r\nlighting candle-lit activity.

 In the morning of 5th June, after having time of\r\nservice rituals and reviewing the history knowledge of the Buddha’s life, a\r\nquizzed game took place excitingly. The group continued the journey by visiting\r\nKiep Bac temple which was considered as a place worshiping Tran Hung Dao, a\r\nnational hero, located in Hung Dao commune, Chi Linh, Hai Duong province
