Starting the Temporary Ordination Retreat for Children in Summer

On July 26th, 2022 (May 22th, LC), Hoang Phap Pagoda officially opened The Temporary Ordination Retreat for Children for over 1430 children from 8 - 14 years old to attend.

Before the ceremony of taking refuge in the Three Jewels in the morning, Junior Thich Tam Tri explained about the life of the Buddha, the purpose and meaning of Three Refuges and Five Precepts; Since, all participants will understand the refuge and value of taking refuge in the Three Jewels.

At exactly 9:00 a.m., the ceremony of taking refuge for young learners took place at Dharma Hall 1 - Dharma Wheel Building with the witness of Venerable Monks. On behalf of monks, Most Thich Chan Tinh of Hoang Phap Pagoda spreaded Five precepts to the disciples. In parallel with taking Three refuge is to receive Five precepts to help them have their knowledge in establishing a clean and noble life later. The Master guided each precept in turn so that they would understand and practice correctly as well as realize the benefits of keeping the precepts.

The rite officially took place in the afternoon; 160 good male sons respectfully welcomed Monks come to the main hall to celebrate the ceremony, offering incense to the Buddha.

After introducing the program and the reason statement, the representatives of these young sons had a speech to offer to the Sangha. Then, Most Master Thich Chan Tinh of Hoang Phap Pagoda had some dharma words for them. These good sons simultaneously offered their vow to ordinate.

In the solemn and pure atmosphere, the ceremony was performed. Next, the Most Master gave encouragement to young male monks at Temporary ordination retreat.

The Master praised the spirit of cultivation of the children. At the same time, he also advised them to obey the Monks who will teach the practice, study the life of practice in the demeanour of cultivators. The temple is a moral environment, training the will, energy, good path orientation during the period of studying here. He hopes young learners will listen to the teachings of the monks and nuns, worthy of being a practitioner, manifesting in maintaining posture, diligent practice, gentle and cute speech...

The representative of good sons expressed his thanks to the Sangha. The image of the monks cutting the hair for the good son has closed the ceremony of ordination.

In the evening, Junior Thich Tam Truong, Abbot of Hoang Phap Pagoda had a meeting with the practitioners on the rules and regulations of the retreat. The Monk had a few words to share and remind them about forming good habits to become good people: obeying parents, being polite to superiors, time discipline, independence, culture in queuing, ...
