Retreat Course at Quoc Thoi Pagoda – Ben Tre Province.

From the 25th to the 28th of June, 2014 (May 28 to June 2 in Horse Year), Quoc Thoi pagoda of Tan Hoa hamlet, Long Thoi commune, Cho Lach district, Ben Tre province held the summer cultivation course for the local youth.
\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
With the permission of Senior Venerable Thich Chan Tinh, the\r\nabbot of Hoang Phap pagoda, its monks came to assist Venerable Thich Tam Hung\r\nin organizing this cultivation course.

Despite having defective facilities, the first cultivation\r\ncourse took place successfully thanks to the “All for Buddhist Dharma†spirit\r\nas well as the support of local residents.

During the course, everyone listened to the teaching of\r\nVenerable Thich Tam Tien on the topic “My Moonâ€. The Venerable shared his\r\nthoughts on the great merits of the father and the mother’s. They also\r\nparticipated in competitions about doctrine and talents in an exciting\r\natmosphere. In addition, every night was the time for reciting prayers in the\r\nevent of Ullambana to once again remind everyone of their parents’ merits.

After the activities such as listening to Dharma, praying,\r\ndoctrine, the participants somewhat understood the value of Buddhas teachings\r\nin life, and made the commitment to maintain the Triratna and the Five\r\nPrecepts, Venerable Thich Tam Hung, on behalf of the monks, passed on the\r\nrules to everyone

Although the cultivation course did not last long,\r\nfour days of practice more or less helped the participants become better aware\r\nand improve themselves. The course also brought joy and excitement to the\r\nlocals as it created a healthy and rewarding playground for the youth this\r\nsummer.
