Repentant Ceremony on Feb. 30th, Year of the Cat at Dong Cao pagoda

In the evening of March 21st, 2023 (Feb. 30th, Year of the Cat), good men and believing women everywhere returned to Dong Cao Pagoda (belonging to Hoang Phap pagoda’s custom) in Thanh Hoa to attend a periodic penance rite.

After gathering the main hall, stabilizing the ashram, the Abbot instructed the mass in chanting sutra, prostrating the Buddha’s name, as well as reviewing Three Refuge - Five Precepts. Then, he shared dharma words, helping them firmly hold bodhicitta. The end of the rite, it is the moment when the mass receives Buddha’s gift from the monks.
