Repentant Ceremony on Feb. 29th, Year of the Tiger

On March 31st, 2022 (Feb. 29th, LC) good men and believing women in and out of Ho Chi Minh City returned to Hoang Phap Pagoda to attend the periodic penance rite. Because the Covid-19 epidemic is still happening, the ceremony was held in accordance with the new situation, ensuring the requirements for prevention and control according to regulations.

Before beginning the rite, Junior Thich Tam Man had a dharma talk to the mass.

Everyone is always looking for a peaceful and happy life for themselves on the journey of human life. Besides material needs, we need spiritual support; Therefore, this is also the reason that many people return to the temple to rely on the Buddha's teachings to nurture the Buddha mind, plant the Bodhi seed and find peace in the present life.

Next, he analyzed all factors that lead to a peaceful and happy life.

1. Let ‘s live right the ethics of a Buddhist: fulfill our duties and responsibilities properly, know  clearly our position, live well and cultivate well...

2. Don't get attached to praises and criticisms, always be ourselves, control all emotions, don't let praise and criticism dominate us, we will calmly face the ups and downs of life.

3. When we live for humans, others will live for us. Happy people are those who bring others joy, so, let's not hesitate to give each other joy and smiles.

4. Don't ever remember stories in the past.  Practice letting go of those impermanent forms to keep a light and calm mind before changes around and the people next to us.

5. Be friendly to cultivated people to learn the necessary virtues for a better spiritual journey.

6. Always  keep our mind of good things in body, speech, and mind, then we have good, happy days.

7. Establish the right view in ourselves, when we have the right understanding, we will go the right path.

Life is impermanence, unsatisfactory change. Therefore, each person should consciously build the place we are staying and living into the pure land of the human world, and turn this realm into the Land of Ultimate Bliss. As a result, wherever we come, we will have peace and happiness.
