Repentance ceremony on Oct. 30th, year of the Dragon

On Nov. 30th, 2024 (Oct. 30th, LC), good men and believing women inside and outside HCMC returned to Hoang Phap pagoda to attend a periodical penitential rite.

Junior Thich Tam Hoan, Monks of Hoang Phap pagoda had a dharma talk named Ten dharma realms before the rite.

 

The ten realms of sentient beings are Buddha, Bodhisattva, Pratyekabuddha, Sravaka, Deva, Asura, Human, Animal, Hungry Ghost and Hell. All of these ten realms are created by the thoughts of sentient beings.

 

The realms of human being after its death will come, such as: the one likes to fight, he will be born in the Asura realm; always doing the action of an animal, he will fall into the animal realm; if one creates all evil karma, he will fall into hell; if one is greedy and does not let go, he will become a hungry ghost. A sincere mind is miraculous, whoever has its intention to be born in a good realm, one's mind must abide by the Buddha's compassion, practice all Paramita, cultivate Four Noble Truths, practice Ten Good Deeds, and comply with Five Precepts.   

 

All sentient beings have Buddha nature, and can become Buddhas. It is only because of attachment and delusion that all beings do not realize the Buddha seed is always hidden in our heart. Enough having good conditions to come to the temple and being close to Triple Gem, we should cherish and take every moment to cultivate and study, not waste time on gossip and worries; diligently do good deeds to set up a good place in this present life.

 

The mass has understood the causes and conditions of birth into ten realms after the Dharma talk, will have an orientation for practice, avoid bad causes leading to evil paths, diligently practice and study to be peaceful and happy in this life and be born into a good realm in the future.

 

After the Dharma talk, the mass entered the penitential ritual as usual.
