Repentance ceremony on Oct. 14th, year of the Dragon

On Nov. 14th, 2024 (Oct. 14th, LC), good men and believing women inside and outside HCMC returned to Hoang Phap pagoda to attend a periodical penitential rite.

Most Thich Chan Tinh, Master of Hoang Phap pagoda had a dharma talk for all Buddhists before the rite.

 

The world is made up of many conditions and elements; so, the fates of living beings are always impermanent and fragile. Therefore, each individual should live in a way that is beneficial so that one will leave behind good things for life after dying. As the life of the Buddha, He was an unprecedented great man, his birth was a good thing, he lived a life of dedication and meaning, so his world leaving was completely free, autonomous at ease. To learn the Buddha's good life, Buddhists should practice the Noble Eightfold Path that He taught, which will certainly have peace and happiness at present, achieve enlightenment and liberation in the future.

 

As the Patriarch's death anniversary approaches, the Most Master reviewed some of the achievements of the Founder - a person who devoted his entire life to serving the Dharma and sentient beings. He truly was a virtuous One, a shining example for monks, nuns and Buddhists to follow, especially his aspiration to propagate the Dharma and benefit sentient beings.

 

After the Dharma talk, the mass entered the penitential ritual as usual.
