Repentance ceremony on July 14th, Year of the Tiger

On Aug. 11th, 2022 (July 14th, LC), men and women Buddhists inside and outside HCMC returned to Hoang Phap pagoda to attend the periodical penitential ceremony.

Before the rite, Junior Thich Tam Vuong had a Buddhadharma talk to the mass.

The month of July reminds us of many different meanings, meanwhile recalling humans the deep grace of parents. That gratitude is expressed in folk songs and proverbs to awaken filial piety in every child. In an hour passing, the monk explained the parents' the merit of raising children is clearly shown by nine words: Being born – cradling – cuddling – nursing – nurturing – teaching – looking after – caring for – support; the preacher told the old story of raising children to the state at current of that rearing to clarify the sacrifices and hardships in nursing children (physically and mentally).

Finally, the monk advised the listeners to live fully filial piety, repay their kindness to their parents while still possible, do not upset their parents, instruct parents to respect the Three Jewels, and then practice good deeds with right views.

After the Dharma talk, the mass started the penitential ceremony as usual.
