Repentance ceremony on (intercalary) Feb. 29th, Year of the Cat

On April 19th, 2023 (intercalary Feb. 14th, Year of the Cat), good men and believing women inside and outside HCMC returned to Hoang Phap pagoda to attend the periodical penitential ceremony.

Before the rite, Junior Thich Tam Hanh, monks of the pagoda gave a dharma talk named Sacrificing for the dharma.

Buddhists have the heart to serve sentient beings, uphold Buddha Dharma, expand their loving-kindness, which should be encouraged. However, compassion and sacrifice need to be accompanied by wisdom, giving in the necessary places, and needy situations, then that good will really have meaning. We try to practice letting go, sacrificing personal interests and desires in order to dedicate and serve the benefit of others, that means we are gradually progressing on the path of true happiness. After the Dharma talk, the mass have more valuable lessons in learning and cultivation, and are more stable in the face of truths-falsehoods of life.

After the Dharma talk, the mass entered the penitential ritual as usual.
