Repentance ceremony on April 29th, Year of the Tiger

On May 29th, 2022 (April 29th, LC), men and women Buddhists inside and outside HCMC to Hoang Phap pagoda to attend the periodical penitential ceremony.

Before the ritual, Junior Thich Tam Thien had a dharma talk named Contemplation of cause and effect.

 There are natural laws that already exist in life, whether the Buddha was born or not, those laws always exist. He Himself is someone who sees and points out rules to everyone, which is the law of cause and effect, samsara, conditions; regardless of whether we are Buddhist followers or not, we still have to be affected by that law. As a Buddhist, we are no stranger to the law of cause and effect, but have we understood cause and effect correctly?

By his dharma talk, the monk distinguished between the sutra of divine destiny of some other religions and the law of cause and effect. He mentioned different aspects of cause and effect: What we sow, what we reap; causes and conditions will create results; karmic and aspirational factors in redirecting cause and effect; items of giving, the mind of giver, the person receiving the gift will produce the result of giving; the benefit of cause and effect from thinking carefully before doing, distinguishing between blessing and merit.

These teachings help Buddhists realize and understand the running of the law of cause and effect to solve life problems, improve their own lives.

 After the Dharma talk, the mass started the penitential ceremony as usual.
