Prostrating five hundred names Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara at Dong Cao Pagoda

On occasion the birthday of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, in the evening of Oct. 14th, 2022 (Sep. 19th, LC), Dong Cao Pagoda (Thanh Hoa province) organized the prostration of five hundred names Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara. This rite helps Buddhists to pay tribute and practice following His vows, as well as pray to their family for peace-happiness and the pandemic quickly to be repelled.

Before that, from October 10th -14th, 2022 (Sep. 15th – 19th, LC), the mass performed the ritual of worshiping, chanting to Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara.

 That day, Junior Thich Tam Hung, Abbot of Dong Cao Pagoda, guided the mass to recite the Lotus Sutra. In the evening, at 19:30pm, the ceremony to celebrate the anniversary of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara officially took place.

The Abbot guided the mass to practice listening to the wakefulness bell 's sound and reminding them vows of Her. Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva is the symbol of compassion, love, support and protection for sentient beings. She is a saint listening to the suffering cry of all species to have salvation. When reciting the name Avalokitesvara, we will arouse love in our heart. Thanks to this, each of us could open our minds and transform the sufferings of ourselves and others.

Then, the Venerable had some teachings to present Buddhists: "... Try to keep your faith and train the practice of Buddha's words into our daily life. In particular, practitioners who practice the Pure-Land method must build a solid foundation for themselves. That is Faith, Practice, and Vow to help build our world into a Pure Land while we are living in this life, until when abandon this body will be born in the Pure realm.
