Peace Praying Ceremony in the lunar New Year 2025

On the first days of the lunar new year, we may go to the pagoda to attend the rite praying for good things to the whole family. This not only shows the beauty of Buddhist culture, but also the spirit, as well as the influence of compassion, wisdom of Buddhism on human life.
At 9 am, a solemn rite welcoming venerable monks and nuns was taken at the lecture hall 1 of Dharma-Wheel Building. Before the official rite opened, Junior Abbot Thich Tam Truong had some dharma words to all participants.
People usually go to the pagoda at the beginning of the year to worship Buddha, pray for health and peace for themselves, their families. With a firm and true faith in the Buddha's teachings, Buddhist disciples should be aware that having a good life is not only wishing on supernatural forces but also improving on our personal efforts.
Not only Buddhists but also non-believers need to build a good life for themselves in order to sow blessings. The most basic foundation, the starting point for all good deeds is Five Precepts. As long as each person and each family fully comply with five moral principles (no killing, no stealing, no sexual misconduct, no lying, no drug use) it will contribute positive energy to make this life brighter.
We need to understand clearly the doctrine of cause and effect, karma to realize that good or bad things are created by our own karma not by someone else's control. With this understanding, practitioners should strive to practice, apply the Buddha's teachings, increase good roots, reduce bad karma, build and orient ourselves to a happy life in this life and the future.
The ritual officially took place after the talk. The mass respectfully recites sutras, prays for a happy new year, and hopes all people will return to rely on the Three Jewels, practice the Buddha's teachings. Finally, prayers for peace and delight come to the nation; people are wealthy and happy in the new year.
Last, Hoang Phap pagoda gave dharma gifts to all the participants.
