Opening the Summer Retreat at Tay Khanh Pagoda

On June 22nd, 2022 (May 24th, 2020), Tay Khanh Pagoda (Thai Binh), belonging to Hoang Phap pagoda officially opened the 8th Summer Retreat for nearly 400 students inside and outside the province to attend.

The retreat takes place from June 22th - 26th, 2022 for young people aged 15-23. The temple's summer retreat has become a healthy playground, a useful destination for young people every summer coming.

In the morning, the monks in the temple together with the monks of Hoang Phap pagoda received the register for the retreat. Then, the monks had to divide them into four families: Lumbini, Buddhagaya, Sarnath, Kusinagara (Birth, Ordination, Enlightenment and Nirvana).

In the afternoon, monks instructed some basic rules and demeanor for Buddhists when they come to the temple such as prostrating, clasping hands to salute, sitting in meditation, making offerings for lunch... Then it was the time spent in outdoor fun activities.

In the evening, all learners started the chanting and reading the Ullambana Sutra.
