Update: 09/07/2014
On Sunday 6th, July 2014 (10th June, Horse Year), the program of one-day cultivation was organized at Hoang Phap pagoda branch in Cambodia. Nearly 500 Vietnamese-Cambodian and Cambodian came to attend One–Day Cultivation there.
Although being on the tranquil dwelling season, under the\r\ninstruction of Sen. Ven. Thich Chan Tinh, the monks of Hoang Phap pagoda (Ho\r\nChi Minh City) went to Cambodia to support the Abbot Thich Tam Truc (Junior\r\nVenerable of Hoang Phap pagoda in Cambodia) in organizing One–Day Cultivation\r\nto bring the enlightenment light of Buddhism to expatriates. In spite of\r\npoor facility, the One–Day Cultivation ended successfully due to the overseas\r\nVietnamese’ overwhelming desires also the enthusiasm of the monks.

In this cultivation, Ven. Thich Thien My, the Abbot of Vien\r\nGiac Pagoda, Dong Nai province did not mind coming to pagoda despite the\r\ndistance to offer a Dharma talk to Buddhists on the topic: “Buddha Recitation\r\nto escape suffering†in which the Ven. shared the valuable experiences in\r\ncultivation.

In the lecture, he instructed that Buddha cultivators should\r\nalways direct their mind toward the Three Treasures, which are Buddha, Dharma\r\nand Sangha. He further explained that Buddha recitation is to remember\r\nBuddha with gratitude while practice of Dharma is to memorize Buddha’s teachings\r\nand offering to Sangha is to express our sincere gratitude to the monks or nuns\r\nwho spread the Dharma. Besides, Buddhists should also practice four kinds of\r\nmindfulness, which are loving-kindness, compassion, joy and equanimity.\r\nPracticing these is to follow Buddha’s good examples in which bringing joy to\r\nsentient beings, saving them from sufferings, forgiving their mistakes and\r\nrejoicing in others good deeds are indispensable.
