One-Day Retreat“Being peaceful every footstep” at Suoi Phap Pagoda, Tay Ninh

Crowd Buddhists everywhere returned to Suoi Phap Pagoda (belonging to the Hoang Phap’s sect) in Tan Chau, Tay Ninh province to attend One-day Retreat with the topic “Being peaceful every footstep” on Dec. 22nd, 2024.
After gathering in the main hall at 8.30 am, all practitioners began to practice reciting the Buddha's name and walking meditation instructed by Junior Thich Tam Huong.
In response to the Organizers’ invitation, Senior Thich Tam Duyet, Abbot of Tam Phap pagoda in Binh Phuoc Province came to the ashram to share a Dharma talk named Amitabha Buddha and Forty-Eight Vows.
The monk preached about the previous life of Amitabha Buddha was a Buddha who had a great affinity with sentient beings in the ten-direction world. When being in the human realm, he followed Buddha Lokesvararaja to become a monk and had the Dharma name Dharmakara. When cultivating the human realm, Bhikkhu Dharmakara made 48 vows. Each vow hopes to create a majestic world without suffering and without three evil paths. By countless eons of practice, accumulate merit and virtue without interruption and attain the Supremely Enlightened One, named Amitabha, achieve a land called Ultimate Bliss in the West. When Bhikkhu Dharmakara became a Buddha, his forty-eight vows were fulfilled. Each vow he made was to save all sentient beings from suffering and to bring them to his Pure Land. Last, the monk encouraged the mass to diligently recite the Buddha's name to eliminate obstacles, delusions and sow good seeds with Amitabha Buddha and the Pure Land.
Next, Buddhists came to the dining hall to have lunch.
In the afternoon, the mass chanted the Buddha name and walked meditation.
