In the morning, after breakfast, the students gathered at the lecture hall to recite the Repentance on the Six sense-organs Sutra” with the monks Then, there came the Dharma talk from Junior Venerable Thich Tam Sy on the topic of Lucky Love and Happiness.
Love is the eternal topic for writers, poets and musicians who have written human love songs, but it also leaves many unfortunate consequences. According to the Venerable, under Buddhist view of this kind of love, it was repayment and debt collection, so all should be careful in love, and they must bear on his own and do not rely on anyone.
The world was a temporary refuge, so it is an obvious matter leaving it. Then, if we ourselves do not realize it and satisfy with what we have already had, it may be easy to lead to suicide. At that time, he explained one of the methods which was to avoid thinking of negative things and directing attention to goodness, joy, and so on. Each person's luck and happiness depended on his attitude that he/she accepted the truth together with understanding what would gradually transform suffering, live a life of morality and love completely. In addition, he talked about the phenomenon of abortion among young people today, which had many consequences for themselves, their families and society.
A special feature on the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year was that Most Venerable Thich Chan Tinh, the Abbot of Hoang Phap Pagoda, had a few words with young people. He praised their spirit of study as well as sent greetings to their families. We were seated here because we had many good predestined relationships. Let's respect every moment of every predestined relationship, like when we go to the pagoda to study the religion, and still get to see each other. Each day, we should try to study and work toward a noble, good future.
After that, he personally handed over the lucky money envelopes to these students. When they left, each of them received a souvenir and the book on the title of "Spring Gift" and "Dharma and Way of Life".
