Good men and believing women everywhere gathered at Hoang Phap pagoda to attend One-day Practice on Feb. 26th, 2023 ( Feb . 7th, LC).
After having breakfast, all Buddhists came to the lecture halls of Dharma Wheel Building to begin reciting the Buddha's name, walking meditation and chanting precepts.
After the rite, Senior Thich Quang Thien - Head of the Buddhist Legal Department in District 12, Lecturer at Buddhist schools inside and outside the City, Abbot of Tinh Quang Pagoda in Ho Chi Minh City came to the lecture hall to share a dharma talk to the mass.
When practicing and studying Buddhadharma, practitioners of reciting Buddha's names need to contemplate His merit towards sentient beings, follow the Buddha's example of conduct to study, transform body and mind; should not attach to things, or prove themselves. Each living being has its own karma and it is an inheritance carried from one life to another.
“Unaniously pay homage to the Buddha”
I vow to stay at Tathagata's house for a thousand lives,
I always wear the Tathagata's clothes
And will sit on the Dharma seat of the Tathagata forever."
Reciting and paying respect to the Buddha, we vow to return to the Buddha, live in the spirit of compassion, and learn patience. Each practitioner must diligently study the Dharma to understand cause and effect, impermanence, etc., thereby explaining everything in the world, which is wisdom. Impermanence can come to the door at any time, cause and effect whether good or bad can rush down to us anytime, anywhere; those who recite the Buddha's name with full compassion, patience, wisdom, and courage will easily overcome all obstacles, difficulties in life, firmly and strongly in control of our life, as well as actively sow good causes and effects. Last, all good or bad results are created by ourselves, cannot be begged or prayed for.
After reciting the Buddha name in the afternoon, Buddhists practiced sitting meditation quietly.
Before leaving, Buddhists received a gift of Dharma.
