Grand Master’s Anniversary of Death – Hoang Phap Pagoda Founder in 2021
Update: 20/11/2021
In the morning of Nov. 20th, 2021 (Oct. 16th, Lunar Calendar), Hoang phap pagoda took place a solemn anniversary to commemorate the Late Most accompanied with crowded attendance of all monks, Buddhists at the pagoda.
This anniversary, the pagoda did not organize a gathering of followers because the Covid-19 epidemic was still very complicated. Monks and Buddhists at the branches at home and abroad cannot return to inquire about the Abbot's health, or stay close to the Master to listen to Dharma words, and experiences from him; will organize a memorial rite in their own monastery, then turn their mind to the Hoang Phap Pagoda.
In a solemn and tranquil atmosphere of introducing the program, all participants took one minute to commemorate Late Grand Master, ancestors along with 23,000 people who were victims of the Covid-19 epidemic. Then, Ven. Thich Tam Hoa, the Hoa Phuc’s Abbot, had a speech on the life and career of the Late Grand Master.
The Head Organizers, Senior Ven Thich Chan Tinh addressed some words to encourage the mass. From the life and career of the Patriarch of Hoang Phap Pagoda, he talked about 3 issues in the process of practice for a monk:
- The first, a cultivator should make benefits for itself. Everyone's cultivation has to go over trials and temptations. He raised three challenges: for himself, his brothers and his monastic life. If a monk is not steadfast in his stance, nurtures the ideal of practice, and has no Precepts - Concentration - Wisdom, it is easy to retreat on the path of cultivation and will not be able to keep the appearance of a cultivator.
- The second, that one should make benefits for others. In addition to self-study, he should do things for the benefit of all sentient beings, and must think about bringing the light of Buddha's teachings to many people.
-The third, he can let go of its body very gently when dying.
Finally, the Master hopes the monks always remember the life of Patriarch to take it as pride, as a spiritual guide and a good example to advance on the practice.
At the end of the ceremony, monks and Buddhists offered incense to commemorate and bow to the Late Grand Master.
