Dharma talk Lotus Blossoming in the Sea of Fire preaching by Senior Thich Phap Dang in the 103rd Seven-Day Retreat

The fire of impermanence, afflictions has burned us in life from the mind to the outside. Buddha Shakyamuni taught many cultivation ways so that sentient beings can apply to practice, depending on their capacities that each practitioner can attain peace and tranquility as if in the fire sea are lotus blooming with the fragrance of virtue.
To bloom lotus flowers in the sea of fire, it is important that we apply the Buddha teachings and Patriarchs, those who have attained enlightenment in the practice. Especially the method of reciting Buddha's name, practitioners need to learn, understand and practice correctly to have peace in this life and next lives.
The Venerable taught three important daily things according to the teachings of Master Van Giac in the book "Remaining works":
+ First: Talk less, recite Buddha's name more. Do what you want to do quickly, remind yourself early about what you need to tell. Don't be attached to worldly wealth, don't desire heavenly joy. Do good deeds, encourage people to have faith, do according to your ability, mainly recite Buddha's name to be born in the Pure land, see Buddha and listen to Dharma.
+ Second: Master yourself, don't listen to others and change, or retreat. Human relationships can decrease conversation, and don't follow other people's wishes. Old age and time are limited, don't let them pass. When having doubts about the cultivation, let's ask for clarification, don't be vague, and make mistakes.
+ Third: Always ask yourself: “Is Amitabha Buddha in your mind? Is the Buddha image in front of your eyes? Do you recite Buddha's name when you walk, stand, sit, or lie down? Do you remember when you are busy or free?” The chanting sutras, reciting Buddha's name, mantras, sitting meditation, and worshiping, etc, all make a vow to dedicate: “Currently, the family is peaceful, born in the Pure Land in future,” then make a prayer: “At the time of death: knowing the date and time, the mind is not confused, and the Buddha will welcome.”
With the important knowledge the Venerable has taught, the attendees should apply and practice every day so that the present is always peaceful; then, the Pure Land will be born in the future, as if lotus flowers will still bloom in a sea of fire.
