In the morning session, the Venerable talked about the characteristics of Buddhism strands after Buddha’s parinirvana and the introduction of those into Vietnam. Vietnamese people have adopted the two schools Mahayana and Theravada of Buddhism. Besides, the appearance of Buddhism Mendicant strand in Vietnam was also for the purpose of reconcilement the two above mentioned schools together, in order to meet the studying needs of the majority of Buddhist devotees in Viet Nam. Skillful means have been used for all classes in the society to practice easily as chanting sutra in Vietnamese version, using vegan food, and alms begging to help people get used to Buddhism. Hence the doctrine and practice of Vietnamese Buddhism Mendicant are based on Buddha’s teachings, Mahayana and Theravada with the adjustment to meet with the local culture and tradition. After that, the Venerable shared about his experience in practice which is the priceless gift for the participants.

In the evening, the Venerable guided the etiquette for Buddhist and reviewed Buddhism fundamentals as the meaning of taking refuge in Triratna, five precepts to rookie Buddhists. He also encouraged Buddhist devotees diligently listening to Dharma talks to develop their knowledge, apply Buddha’s teaching in daily life and nourish the Bodhi mind.
