Dharma Talk at Hoi Duc pagoda-Vinh Long
Update: 18/05/2015
Accepting the invitation from the abbess Thich Nu Nhu Tri, in the morning 17 May 2015( March 29th Lunar Goat Year), Senior Venerable Thich Chan Tinh visited Hoi Duc pagoda at 268 Tan Quoi Dong hamlet, Truong An village, Vinh Long city and gave Dharma teaching to Buddhists.
After attained the enlightenment, Shakyamuni\r\nBuddha started to move Dharma wheel. First, he helped 5 brothers of\r\nKaudinya ordinate, then Yasa, 30 mandarin's sons, 3 brothers of\r\nKasyapa, Sariputa Mahamaudgalyayana, etc.
The Sangha gradually increased. At early period, the Buddha\r\nand the Sangha had no specific place to stay. They went for alms in the\r\nmorning, ate at noon and rested in rock caves or under roots of tree.
The Sangha needed a stable place to cultivate and lay people\r\nalso needed a place to learn Dharma. Because of that demand, kings, karanda\r\nand generous lay people devoted land to build monastery for them.
At present Hoi Duc pagoda is constructing more lecture\r\nhalls so that Buddhists would have a place for Dharma learning and cultivation.\r\nThis is the demand of great assembly. The abbess is the represented of\r\nbuilding this work, but finance is contributed by Buddhists.
Therefore, whether this project finishes soon\r\nor late depends on great assembly's offerings. In fact, talking about the\r\nself-cultivation of the abbess, a little house is enough instead of an enormous\r\npagoda and a wide campus. However, the demand for cultivation of Buddhists\r\nincreases more, the abbess must build more lecture halls as a place for Dharma\r\nlearning. Today the lecture hall is nearly completed and Buddhists have an airy\r\ncultivation place. They must make the best effort in cultivation in order to\r\nsatisfy what the abbess made and favorable conditions that pagoda’s nuns\r\ncreated for us.
It was the content which the Venerable presented\r\nin the Buddha speech. At the end of his speech, he gave the\r\nBuddhists VCD “Devotion to Buddhismâ€.
