Charity in Tay Tra District – Quang Ngai Province

The first place with gifts was Tra Huynh Hamlet, Tra Nham\r\nCommune, Tay Tra District, about 100 kilometers from Quang Ngai City. Located\r\nin a high mountain, Tay Tra District is one of the poorest districts in the\r\ncountry; most of its residents are Kor people. From the ground, the charity\r\ngroup had to climb a steep mountain pass at the height of nearly 1000 meters.\r\nBecause there were some seriously damaged roads, traveling became very\r\ndifficult. In curving range of mountains, the people live by growing and\r\nselling balcooa bamboo and cinnamon tree. In rainy months, the people could not\r\ndo anything for their living, so the goverment has to support food for more\r\nthan 400 families. Sometimes, there are some Buddhist charity organizations\r\ncoming to support them. The group gave 250 gifts, each including 10 kilograms\r\nof rice, 1 package of noodles, soy sauce, sodium glutamate, sugar, salt,\r\n200,000 VND, etc.

The second place was Tra Linh Hamlet, Tra Lanh Commune, Tay\r\nTra District, where the group gave 150 gifts of the same amount as in the first\r\nplace. The total amount was 200million VND. This amount of money had been\r\noffered by the Buddhist Nhu Lu – a Vietnamese Australian. The Nun Thich Nu Uyen\r\nLien –Abbess of the Pho Quang Pagoda in Group 7, Quang Phu Ward, Quang Ngai\r\nCity – organized and instructed the charity group.
