Ceremony of Repentance November 29th, (Year of Horse)

In the evening of January 19th, 2014 (Nov. 29th - Year of Horse), thousands of Buddhists from Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces came to the pagoda to take refuge.
Under the instruction of the Ven. Abbot and monks, Jun. Ven.\r\nThich Tam Trong – a monk of Hoang Phap Pagoda had a preaching for\r\nBuddhists before the Repentance. On the theme of "Mindfulness in\r\nLife", the Ven. presented the experience of practice to gain peace and\r\nhappiness in daily life.
Mindfulness is being aware of what is happening at the\r\npresent moment and the self - presence in order not to be immersed in the\r\nmemory, regret or worry about the past or dream of the future. Mindfulness\r\nhelps us identify and contact to the miracles around us, to what is arising and\r\npresenting in magical reality of our lives.
We need to be mindful, it helps us restore our own\r\nsovereignty, recognize that we are happy; thus, to overcome the temptation of\r\nlife. It also helps us to be aware of afflictions that are presenting in ourselves and\r\nthen transform the sufferings and to feel the miracles from our life. And\r\nthanks to it, we can achieve success at work.
To gain mindfulness, we have to regularly go back to the\r\nconscious breath. Walking meditation is also a way of practice. Besides,\r\nworking in silence, having tea or any other activities, if you can concentrate,\r\nit will bring to us the mindfulness.
Mindfulness is an important method in human life. People who\r\npractice it will be peaceful. Families who can do it will be happy. The society\r\nthat does it will develop peace and happiness.
