Candle Lighting Ceremony to commemorate Amitabha Buddha Birthday, Nhat Phap pagoda, Dong Nai

On Dec. 15th, 2024 (Nov. 15th, LC), Nhat Phap pagoda in Dong Nai province (belonging to Hoang Phap pagoda’s sect) solemnly organized a candle lighting ceremony to pay homage to the Amitabha Buddha.

The ceremony was witnessed by the Abbot of Nhat Phap Pagoda, Junior Thich Tam Trong accompanying Junior Thich Tam Quyet, Junior Thich Tam Nhan, and Buddhists returning to attend.

 

The mass offered flickering candles to the Buddhas in the spirit of transmitting the light of wisdom, spreading the wonderful light of compassion throughout humanity to dispel ignorance and suffering in life on His Birthday. In front of the Buddha statue, reciting the name and reviewing His 48 great vows, the mass vowed diligently to practice every day, build a pure land here until when giving up this body they will be born in the Pure land.
